Colonial Kitchen
This older Colonial house had been through several remodels that left the kitchen and back entry fragmented, dark, and extremely inefficient with no real mudroom space. The project entailed reworking the kitchen and back entry within the existing footprint. The goal was a space that blends with the existing traditional character of the home. The design opens the kitchen to the back to bring in more daylight and strengthen the connection to the family room and backyard. The result is a more functional, cohesive, & family-friendly space. White woodwork and cabinetry tie into the existing house. The island was designed as a furniture piece with a wood finish to contrast with and temper the amount of white woodwork while bringing in some additional warmth.
