Mid-Century Tilt
This 1962 ranch house was revived with an exterior makeover and kitchen transformation. The exterior work entailed a new front porch, front walk, landscaping, siding and windows. Exterior wood accents were incorporated including cedar siding, porch ceiling, and solid timber columns. A perimeter porch side wall was designed for additional seating and to provide a sense of enclosure and privacy. The interior work entailed a kitchen, dinette, and entry revamp. The drab, dated original home was transformed with a contemporary vibe while paying homage to the mid-century modern aesthetic. The kitchen was liberated and enlarged while opening it to the living room and views to the wooded backyard beyond. A concealed mud space was integrated into the side garage entry. Walnut cabinetry and stylistically appropriate furniture were integrated into the spaces.
