Bold Transitions
This home had been through a prior DIY remodel and addition that left the kitchen dark and isolated in the center of the house. The new renovation was done within the existing house footprint while opening the kitchen to the dining room, family room and views to the backyard. The goal was a bold open modern kitchen with clean lines. A nickel gap paneling motif was used to conceal the structural post, ducts, and wires while creating a unique design element anchoring the new island. The fireplace wall and dining window were redone and a new bar/buffet cabinet was added to complete the aesthetic. The front entry was reworked including new wood accents, tray ceiling motif, stair railing and finishes. The front of the house was redesigned including a new front living room bay window, new siding, wood accents, streamlined columns, and additional details to complement the recently done modern landscape. The dark windows and exterior trim complement the dark interior accents. The result is a traditional home revamped and transitioned into an eclectic modern aesthetic.
